One of our projects is ideally located in the Houston MSA, and the property has all the infrastructure needed for construction.

When it comes to building the future of energy, location is everything. At NPD, we’ve zeroed in on a prime site near the heart of Houston, Texas, that checks all the boxes for powering tomorrow’s off-grid data centers with cutting-edge natural gas power plants and small modular reactor (SMR). While we’re keeping the exact spot under wraps for now, let’s just say it’s strategically positioned to harness the best of what the region offers, blending accessibility, resources, and opportunity.

Everything on site

  1. In Houston MSA
  2. Freeway Access
  3. Rail Access
  4. Gas Pipelines
  5. Electric Substation
  6. Water
  7. Internet Connectivity

Our chosen location is a stone’s throw from Houston’s bustling core, giving us proximity to one of the nation’s most dynamic economic hubs. This closeness ensures we’re plugged into the infrastructure and talent pool that a city like Houston provides, while still offering the space and flexibility needed for a large-scale data center energy project. Access to water is a key feature of our site, critical for cooling systems in both natural gas plants and SMR. Whether for efficient operations or environmental considerations, having reliable water sources nearby is non-negotiable, and our spot delivers.

Rail access is another major win. With rail lines running close to our site, we can efficiently transport materials and equipment, keeping construction on track and costs in check. This connectivity is a game-changer for building and maintaining advanced energy facilities, ensuring we can scale up quickly to meet the growing demands of data centers. And speaking of energy, the site’s proximity to natural gas lines is a perfect fit for our plans to construct a state-of-the-art natural gas power plant. These pipelines provide a steady, reliable fuel source, allowing us to generate consistent power for data centers that need to stay online 24/7. If all goes to plan our site will house the largest natural gas plant in the USA.

What makes this location even more exciting is its potential for a small modular reactor. SMRs are the future of nuclear energy—compact, safe, and efficient—and our site is ideally suited for this technology. With ample space, access to water for cooling, and the infrastructure to support construction, it’s a natural choice for deploying these next-generation reactors. Texas is also the perfect place to make this vision a reality. The state’s governor has been vocal about supporting nuclear energy projects, recognizing their potential to provide clean, reliable power. Combine that with Texas’ enthusiasm for data center growth—driven by the booming tech and AI sectors—and you’ve got a recipe for success.

Houston’s energy legacy, paired with forward-thinking leadership and our carefully selected site, sets the stage for NPD to lead the charge in powering off-grid data centers. We’re thrilled about what’s to come, and while the exact coordinates of our location remain a secret for now, rest assured it’s a spot that’s poised to energize the future. Stay tuned as we bring this vision to life, one megawatt at a time.
